FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUSTIN — Today, the Texas Association of Health Plans (TAHP) announced that Blake Hutson is joining the team as Director of Public Affairs.
“I’ve seen Blake in action at the Capitol as an effective advocate and champion for Texans,” said Jamie Dudensing, CEO of TAHP. “We’re thrilled he is joining our team and continuing his important work on health care issues and making sure Texans have the health care coverage they need.”
Hutson previously served as the Associate State Director at AARP where he lobbied at the state capitol on health care and other issues. Prior to that, he was the Director of Grassroots for the Texas office of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.
Hutson also worked for Consumer Reports advocating for health reforms nationally.
“TAHP is a great opportunity to continue working for affordable health care for Texans at a time when health care issues are more important than ever,” said Hutson. “I’m excited to get started.”
The Texas Association of Health Plans (TAHP) is the statewide trade association representing health insurers, Medicaid plans, Medicare Advantage plans, and other related health care entities operating in Texas. For three decades, TAHP has been a leader on issues that improve the lives of Texans and strengthen health care in Texas.
