Rural Health Advisory Committee Recap 6.5.25

The Rural Hospital Advisory Committee (RHAC) supports HHSC in addressing the financial viability and service delivery capacity of rural hospitals. In its June session, RHAC focused on grant navigation, teleconnectivity program awards, and eligibility updates for rural providers under DSH and UC funding. Staffing shortages, service discontinuations, and the need for federal advocacy were discussed in detail. Stakeholders urged continued support for grant education, streamlined application processes, and alignment with broader Medicaid reforms.
