Perinatal Advisory Committee Recap 6.6.25

The Perinatal Advisory Committee (PAC) advises the state on maternal and neonatal care standards and facility designation criteria. In June, PAC reviewed designation program data, staffing challenges, and gaps in QAPI compliance. Members also discussed coverage for neonatal back transfers, data collection improvements, and standards for fetal therapy centers and Level 4 NICUs. Strong feedback was shared on balancing subspecialty access with flexibility, especially in rural regions. Several recently passed bills—such as HB 37 (bereavement care)—were highlighted for their impact on designated maternal facilities.
