Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council Meeting 06.06.24

This week, the Texas AI Advisory Council, co-chaired by Sen. Parker and Rep. Capriglione,
met to hear invited testimony from the Department of Family and Protective Services, the
Health and Human Services Commission, the Office of the Attorney General, the Texas
Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and the Texas
Department of Insurance.

The council was established by HB 2060 last session to assess AI and machine learning’s
impact on state agencies and the citizens they serve, guiding where AI should be used
with or without human oversight.
