As we enter the post-session summer, TAHP is preparing for our annual Texas Covered Conference + Expo that will take place in person in Austin (COVID permitting) from November 8-10. The conference is the largest event of its kind in Texas and brings together decision-makers from across the health care spectrum—from major health plans, providers, and regulators, to legislators, journalists, academics, and more.
Driven by an agenda tailored to reflect the pressing issues of the day, conference presentations, panels, and conversations cover the wide range of challenges and opportunities posed by federal health reform, state policies and budget issues, as well as the ins and outs of operating health plans and health care entities on a day-to-day basis.
TAHP is seeking panelists to speak at this year’s conference. If you are a health insurance expert, have an important message for health care leaders, or want to raise your professional profile, we want to see what you can bring to the table at Texas Covered. Apply to be a speaker!
We’re looking for panelists who can address a wide variety of topics, including:
- Telehealth/telemedicine
- Implementing federal transparency rules
- Creating incentives that improve value
- New federal surprise billing law
- Automating prior authorizations — reducing paperwork and burden
- New trends in prescription drug coverage, pricing, and policy
- Mental health parity
- Health care cost and trends
- Health equity and interoperability
- Better data, better care
- Advancing value based care
- Improving care coordination
- Efforts to reduce social barriers
- Efforts to improve health equity and reduce racial and socioeconomic disparities
- Health outlook beyond COVID-19
- Lessons learned from COVID-19
All confirmed speakers will receive a complimentary full registration to the conference. In addition, speakers and their organizations benefit from significant exposure through conference materials and event marketing.
Although the promise of a COVID-19 vaccine gives us hope that we will be able to gather for an in-person conference, there is still some uncertainty. We plan to hold the event in person but will move to a virtual or hybrid event if the COVID-19 climate requires.
To be considered, you must complete the proposal form no later than July 1. All speakers/panelists will need to agree to having their presentations recorded and or streamed live. For more information, please contact Patti Doner.
Please note: TAHP greatly appreciates speakers donating their time and knowledge; however, we cannot reimburse or pay for a speaker’s travel or accommodations. All speakers/panelists will receive a complimentary pass to the conference. Those companies within the industry that would like a speaking slot will be required to support the conference by exhibiting and/or sponsoring. Taking a sponsorship or exhibit booth does not guarantee a speaking slot.
